What to bring:
•    Driver
•    Navigator
•    Pens and paper
•    Street directory (GPS won’t help)
•    Full tank of fuel
•    Digital camera (mobile phone with camera will do)

What it is:
A road navigation trial tests a driver and navigators skill at working together. Being on public roads it is not a timed event, but rather on getting the directions right the first time.

Drivers will leave the start point 2 – 5 minutes apart and will be given the directions/map/questions at that time. They will then need to follow the directions as accurately as possible and look out for the answers to the questions along the way. The route does not always follow the quickest route or even a direct route so a GPS won’t help, but an old fashioned Street Directory will help keep you on track or find your way back on track if you make a mistake.

As it is not a timed event, first place will not be the team who crosses the line first or can do it in the fastest time. I MUST STRESS THAT THIS IS ON PUBLIC ROADS AND ALL LAWS MUST BE OBEYED. The winning team will be the one who has answered the most questions correctly. In the event of a tie the event coordinator will determine a winner.

At the finish will be a BBQ and drinks. If the weather is nice bring your swimmers.

Looking forward to seeing you all out there.

Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct (WARP) - JSCC submission to inquiry

E-mail Print

The Wyong Shire Council has announced that it is considering the construction of a motorsports facility in the Wyong shire and has sought input from a wide range of stakeholders – JSCC included!

The council has stated:

Council has resolved to recognise in principle the need to establish a regional Motor Sport and Driver Education facility within the Wyong Shire.

As a result, the Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct (WARP) project has been established, with a view to exploring the potential to create a Motor Sport facility which could cater for a broad range of activities, including:
  • Driver education facility (both general and race car education
  • Car and motorcycle testing and racing facility for car enthusiast and club us
  • Dirt bike tracks
  • Mountain biking facility
  • Karting
  • Car dealer demonstration areas
  • Potential drag strip venue for street racers; and/or
  • Concert / event space.
After seeking input from various JSCC members and JDMST members, the following JSCC submission to the Wyong Council survey has been finalised and sent off to the Strategic Planner running the inquiry:

JSCC has a discussion forum – thanks to JDMST!

E-mail Print
The fantastic value and benefits of an online discussion forum have been made a reality in the most amazingly practical way.

To set up and run an internet forum not only costs money, it requires a high level of skill and dedication.

JSCC has been fortunate enough to have been granted a place on the JDM Style Tuning forum, amongst the other “supporters” forums. This is a great opportunity not only for us, the JSCC members, to have a place to go and discuss motorsports, cruises and have interactive event notifications. It also provides an avenue for new members to notice JSCC and get an idea of what JSCC is all about.

Already in the first week of the JSCC sub-forum opening, 3 new members have signed up due to JDMST space. So a big double thank you goes out to the team at JDMST, particularly Justin Fox.

Also – if you have joined JSCC, it is highly likely that you will benefit from the wide range of other discussions and experiences that exist on the other JDMST forums, even check out the off topic section with jokes etc and also use the for sale forum.

However, just as JSCC has rules, so does JDMST, so please remember that you are representing our car club when posting on JDMST, and that our presence there is a privilege and not a right.

So here is the JDMST main page: http://www.jdmstyletuning.com/

If you click on the FORUM link, you will find the JSCC sub-forum in the Supporters section.

Otherwise, here is the direct link to our little JSCC space: DIRECT LINK TO JSCC sub-forum

JSCC AGM - 2009 committee voted in!

E-mail Print
The JSCC AGM was held on the 17th of February at the fabulous Sports House out at Homebush – the home of CAMS NSW.

Whilst the meeting was fairly short (the way we like it!) we did fill every position on the committee and also have four “general committee” members in support.

The JSCC committee members voted in for 2009 are:

President: Fergus Stuart

Vice-president: Leonard Thio

Secretary: David Hinitt

Treasurer: Kieran Wu

General Committee:

  • Helen Ung
  • Ben Morkos
  • Glen Cable
  • Felix Alim

These are the people who will be running JSCC, organising events and generally keeping all JSCC affairs in order.

These people will be volunteers, and will receive no payments or gratuities, so a big thanks goes out to them for their upcoming time and effort!

These are the links to the AGM Minutes and Treasurers Report from the meeting.
